Frequently Asked Questions
Chemical peels are one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures performed to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. Over time, factors such as sun damage, heredity, diet, repetitive muscle movement, or the development of skin irregularities such as acne scars can cause the skin to lose its smooth, youthful appearance. Chemical peels are a quick way to remove dead skin cells, fine lines, freckles, dark spots, and/or skin imperfections caused by aging, hormones, and the sun. All of these factors contribute to making us look old. Chemical peels are controlled treatments to your face, neck, and/or chest, and can be performed safelyby our licensed providers.
As with any peel, the new skin will be more sensitive at first, especially to the sun. At your consultation, your medical history will be reviewed, and your chemical peel wishes will be evaluated. If a chemical peel is not the ideal choice for you, our team can let you know about the other skin treatments we offer that can provide you with the results you need.
There will be some redness, sensitivity, and some discomfort similar to a sunburn following your chemical peel. While these issues should be mild with light peels, they can be a bit more intense depending on the depth of the peel you receive. It is best to avoid direct sunlight for some time. Our team will provide you with the information you need to make sure your recovery goes smoothly.
